The Position

Executive Branch Auditors plan, organize and conduct comprehensive reviews of programs and activities of executive branch agencies in accordance with the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

The Governor's Finance Office, Division of Internal Audits, is recruiting for an Executive Branch Auditor 4 position, geographically located in Carson City, Nevada. This position performs at the supervisory level, reporting to the Administrator of Internal Audits. In accordance with the Standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors and in compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, and legal requirements, duties of the position include, but are not limited to: planning, organizing and conducting audits and reviews of internal controls, accounts, records, activities, and operations of State agencies; assigning audits to lower-level auditors; reviewing and approving the scope, purpose, and audit approach; reviewing and editing audit reports, analyzing audit findings, identifying factors causing deficient conditions, and recommending courses of action to improve unsatisfactory conditions; and serving as the primary contact with agency management, presenting final audit reports to the Executive Branch Audit Committee in conjunction with the Administrator of Internal Audits. As a first-line supervisor, position duties will also include recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, evaluating performance, and initiating appropriate discipline for assigned personnel.
