Job Summary:
In this position you will oversee and manage the Consumer Loan Department, creating a work environment where staff consistently deliver exceptional member service. Provide leadership, guidance and support to achieve organizational objectives. Ensure compliance with regulations and the highest quality standards for all consumer loan functions and activities. Develop, implement, and maintain compliant policies and procedures. Ensure employees are properly trained and have required licensing as applicable. Build cross-functional teamwork, streamlining processes and workflows. Oversee department projects to successful completion.
Establish department goals that are aligned with SESLOC's organizational objectives. In conjunction with Senior Manager, establish production and referral goals for consumer loan products. Track department performance against goals and motivate staff towards achieving goals.
Facilitate and manage the consumer loan origination, underwriting and approvals as well as oversight of the indirect lending program. Through a subordinate manager, you will oversee the consumer loan operations.
Key Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or other relevant degree and five to eight years of consumer loan management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. At least five of those years must include loan underwriting experience and managing/developing people. Register with the National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO); maintain annual registration requirements.
Direct knowledge and experience in originating and underwriting Consumer Loan products, including but not limited to: Auto, HELOC, Credit Card, and Personal Loans/Lines of Credit.
Demonstrated and strong knowledge of loan underwriting, processing and servicing principles. Possess a strong knowledge base of regulations related to consumer loan underwriting, processing and servicing. Strong knowledge base and ability to analyze and evaluate loan requests and make credit decisions. Demonstrated leadership and professional interpersonal skills including effective written and verbal communications. Ability to exercise sound judgment in all situations and foster sound relationships with others. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including regular use of advanced Excel spreadsheets. Ability to quickly learn SESLOC systems and use them proficiently.
