GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The primary function of this position is to develop a highly effective team of employees and developing each employee to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service to external members is to ensure each employee identifies members' financial needs and suggests appropriate Credit Union solutions. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure that Direct Consumer Loans are completed timely, accurately and within the time frames required by the Federal Regulations; ensure information is processed without jeopardy to data integrity, confidentiality, or accuracy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure that the department meets service goals as established by the Credit Union and the department.2. Maintain knowledge of and remain current on consumer lending compliance and regulations through continued education. 3. Must have extensive knowledge of title laws and documents required to perfect proper lien positions and knowledge of UCC laws to secure non-titled collateral.4. Monitor, interpret, and communicate Lending Regulations, as they pertain to direct consumer loans, to necessary personnel.5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with branch personnel ensuring clear and efficient communication between departments.6. Direct Consumer Lending Processor has authority to determine loan closing terms and conditions as they relate to receipt of required documentation and/or information, Federal Regulations, and/or AFCU policy/procedures. Communicate with lending staff daily regarding said requirements, ensuring the loan packet is complete.7. Review, revise, and develop direct consumer loan documents (forms), contracts, agreements, and disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.8. Ensure that any member follow-up for documents and loan funding are completed timely and accurately and within the time frames required by federal regulations. Continually look at ways to streamline the workflow.9. Ensure accuracy of title packets and lien filings are completed within applicable timeframes.10. Assist in training new Direct Consumer Lending Processors.11. Ensure the guidelines and procedures are followed and any exceptions are documented and signed off on by appropriate staff.12. Provide workable recommendations and solutions to lending issues and difficult situations and work directly with Direct Consumer Lending Supervisor for appropriate solutions.13. Assist in periodic lending reviews with Direct Consumer Lending Supervisor to ensure their loans have met compliance regulations and to ensure board approval standards are being maintained. 14. Analyze Direct Consumer Lending procedures and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.15. Provide the Supervisory Committee, Certified Public Accountants, Auditors, and Federal Examiners with information on department procedures and ensure that needed information is available for their use as directed.16. Maintain a monthly dialog meeting with Direct Consumer Lending Supervisor.17. Recommending changes, discussing areas of improvement, offering solutions to various work-related issues. 18. Assist and participate in various department projects.19. Assist with and participate in team meetings to provide input on directions and progress reviews.20. Develop an understanding of the Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures. Effectively and efficiently manage continuously changing priorities.21.
