Consumer Credit Manager supervises underwriting operations and oversees the loan application review process to determine loan eligibility and terms. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the underwriting team to ensure that loan screening is conducted timely, accurately, and in compliance with all regulations. Being a Consumer Credit Manager provides loan options or product recommendations based on qualifications and keeps the team updated and informed of new products, regulations, or product changes. Assists customers through the loan process by researching and answering complex or unique customer inquiries, clarifying details, and coordinating with internal parties. Additionally, Consumer Credit Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Consumer Credit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Consumer Credit Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Core Responsibilities:
1. Review assigned consumer loan application, originated by Branch, Call Center or submitted
Online to verify application data.
2. Obtain proof of income when necessary.
3. Review credit report for any perceived irregularities and/or reported information if deemed
necessary advice the member and request explanation or proof of paid debts.
4. Review documents received and inform underwriter of any information which would have a
bearing on approval and/or timely funding of the loan.
5. Upload all additional documents provided by the member into processing system.
6. Provide notice of any exceptions.
7. Schedule funding and inform applicant about documents required for disbursement.
8. Perform booking and loan documents arrangement.
9. Provide assistance to co-workers with difficult files or inquiries.
10. Ensure prompt and courteous response to customer inquiries.
11. Prepare various reports based on Manager’s request to effectively monitor activities, identify
issues and trends.
12. Process Branch requests (FIS record update).
13. Keep abreast with all PSFCU lending Policies and Procedures
14. Improve work performance through self education
15. Any other duties or responsibilities, as required or assigned
