  • Family Trust Federal Credit Union is in search of a talented and motivated individual to join our team as VP Consumer Loan Administration. This position is responsible for overall administration of the consumer lending function of the credit union. This includes direct supervision of the consumer loan production supervisor, consumer underwriting supervisor, and indirect lending manager. Directs the professional development of staff, ensuring that efficient and effective processes, decisions, communications and controls for overall loan quality are in place to comply with appropriate regulatory requirements and credit union policy. Formulate consumer lending policies and procedures, development of loan products and pricing, establish and monitor key performance indicators for consumer lending performance, and ensures consumer loan originators, underwriters, funders and indirect staff are adequately trained. Actively participate and oversee the daily execution of the credit union's loan policies, processes and procedures, and operations. Should have a strong knowledge of the consumer loan LOS to ensure efficient operations, reporting, and constant process improvement

    Other major responsibilities include participating in various projects and committees as assigned, ensuring effective communication with staff, other departments, and management, and oversee compliance with consumer lending policies and procedures. Serve as an active member of the loan administration team and ALCO.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Actively support credit union and departmental strategies, goals, and objectives.
    • Meet sales and service goals.
    • Establish, monitor, and report to management key performance indicators and metrics for the consumer lending departments to ensure proper resources and progress towards goals and objectives.
    • Effectively manage and lead direct reports and staff through training and development, coaching, counseling, and mentoring.
    • Work effectively with LOS administrator to ensure consumer LOS is setup and designed effectively to maximize member experience and internal efficiencies.
    • Establish and maintain the highest possible quality of service to members and other departments.
    • Formulate and administer consumer lending policies and procedures and ensure they are efficient, updated, and clearly communicated to staff.
    • Develop and maintain consumer lending products and pricing according to credit union strategies and objectives.
    • Coordinate with loan administration team and training for effective loan training plans for consumer lending departments as identified by strategic intents and objectives.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory and technological requirements in order to remain on top of changes and development affecting the credit union.
    • Work with marketing to develop, recommend, and implement strategies that meet loan growth, income, and usage objectives as set by ALM and other committees.
    • Develops, implements, and manages the annual department plan and budget.
    • Monitor and provide regular reports to management regarding key performance indicators, lending trends, business development, and progression towards goals and objectives.
    • Lead and participate in project teams as assigned to successfully implement goals and objectives in accordance with the credit union's strategic plan.
    • Understand and comply with credit union policy, laws, regulations, and the credit union’s BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious member and/or account activity.

    Qualifications / Education / Experience

    • Experience: A minimum of 5 years proven work experience. Preferred areas of experience include mortgage and business lending.
    • Education / Certifications / Licenses: A 4-year college degree.
    • Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/ or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
    • Other Skills:
      • Strong leadership and people management skills.
      • Excellent working knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, federal and state regulations and laws related to consumer and mortgage lending.
      • Effective written and oral communication, problem-solving, negotiation, cost analysis, and decision-making skills.
      • Effective skills in policy formulation, process management, teamwork, organization, and computer software applications.
      • Assertive decision making and ability to analyze loan applications and cross-sell products.
      • Ability to develop and administer effective policies and procedures.
      • Proficiency in business analytics tools and technologies, with an understanding of data management principles and practices.

    Working Environment & Physical Demands

    • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
