We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consumer Lending Specialist (Loan Officer) to join our team. As a Consumer Lending Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and recommending approval of loan applications for individuals. You will work closely with account holders to gather necessary financial information and ensure compliance with lending policies and regulations.
This position pays a base hourly wage plus commission (when minimum sales goals are met). The position can be in office (in a Lincoln or Omaha branch) or a combination of remote and in office.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate loan applications and determine the creditworthiness of applicants
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and review financial documents
- Assess the risk involved in granting loans and make appropriate recommendations
- Guide account holders through the loan application process and provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and other team members to ensure smooth loan processing
- Build and maintain relationships with applicants to generate new business opportunities
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or similar role in the financial services industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Basic math skills for calculating interest rates, payments, etc.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
