The Credit Analyst will proactively provide financial guidance for review of order backlog to control credit exposure. You will deliver bi-weekly cash forecast requiring analysis of customer payment trends and customer feedback. The Credit Analyst will contact customers to address outstanding accounts receivable effectively securing prompt payment while employing commercial sensitivity, business acumen, and good judgement. You will coordinate with internal departments (Sales, Operations, Customer Service) to resolve customer disputes that may affect the ability to collect receivables. You will monitor and communicate credit concerns to management. The Credit Analyst will provide customer service and develop relationships with internal/external customers. You will ensure procedures and internal controls are followed in compliance with corporate initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
· Manage accounts across multiple company codes and lines of business.
· Analyze customer financial status and market conditions.
· Recommend and implement credit extensions/revocations, and/or legal action where necessary.
· Evaluate the need for financial statements, security instruments on customers and facilitate obtaining and monitoring their effectiveness.
· Analysis of customer financials and payment history when making credit recommendations.
· Provide financial order management support to Supply Chain and Sales team to control credit exposure, effect timely payment and minimize risk of customer disputes.
· Daily review of order backlog to address any potential credit issues. Manage credit hold status (apply/release holds – SAP) and recommend credit hold on product when appropriate.
· Proactively review sales forecast to identify potential credit issues.
· Provide bi-weekly cash forecast and analysis of results.
· Conduct collection calls and written communication (emails) to collect accounts receivable.
· Negotiate customer disputes to resolution and document root causes.
· Resolve billing disputes in a timely manner to increase cash flow and minimize accounts receivable delinquency.
· Negotiate payment plans.
· Review and makes recommendations regarding bad debt or write-offs.
· Promptly notify appropriate team of any customer disputes and/or collection issue preventing timely release of order and pursue issue to resolution.
· Maintain accurate credit files and collection files. Maintain electronic collection notes for each customer account.
· Strong knowledge of department functions, systems, processes, and policies.
· Follow established procedures and policies to ensure consistency and meeting audit and internal control requirements.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree with 2-4 years of experience in credit/collection or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Results driven and detail oriented.
· Effective organizational skills.
· Demonstrated customer service skills and commitment to quality excellence.
· Superior time management skills and ability to meet standards.
· Ability to work well under conflicting priorities with a variety of internal and external customers.
· Understands, recognizes, and follows all policies and procedures.
· Ability to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways.
· Advanced level Excel: SAP experience preferred.
