Summary
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible to develop thorough knowledge in the design, implementation, operation and support of specific business applications and/or supporting technologies to deliver improved business performance. The day-to-day activity of the Business Systems Analyst demonstrates an IT culture that emphasizes quality, responsiveness, customer service, productivity, high standards and results. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for partnering with business owners and end users throughout the company to deliver superior results. The position reports to the Director, Information Technology and maintains open and unbiased communication to ensure the objectives, scope and timeline of projects are maintained and issues surfaced as appropriate.
Essential Duties

Actively support the company’s culture and business mission by always putting TCP’s people and its customers first.

Establish, in conjunction with Director, Information Technology and business owners, challenging IT goals, plans and objectives that support the company’s vision.

Develop, maintain and enhance knowledge of the applications and supporting business processes and technologies utilized within areas of responsibility.

Manage and maintain positive working relationships with IT solution and service providers and evaluate alternatives to achieve greatest value for the company.

Organize project activities using a lifecycle approach, including phases of design, configure/develop, validate, test, support and improve/sustain.

Define tasks and resource requirements to the appropriate level of detail to enable accurate, on-time and on-budget projects.

Participate in activities associated with internal/external IT security audits and risk assessments and implement corrective actions.

Manage and respond to Help Desk requests in the areas of responsibility.

Partner with business owners to understand, interpret and enhance requirements to jointly deliver solutions which exceed expectations.

Help end users understand the capabilities of current IT resources and find ways to improve productivity and overall business performance through the expanded use of these capabilities.

Evaluate and revise business and/or IT processes to reduce costs, increase efficiency and eliminate waste.

Develop and maintain documentation to comply with internal and standards and requirements.

Establish and support a positive work environment based mutual respect, honesty, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Maintain work areas in compliance with 5S standards and policies.

Maintain 24/7 availability to address critical business and/or IT issues.

Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Other responsibilities or projects assigned by manager.
Experience/Requirements
-
3-5 years developing and/or supporting EDI solutions and associated integration with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards.

Hands-on experience with EDI translation software, preferably EXTOL.

Ability to develop SQL processes to enable end-to-end EDI processes.

Competent with use of SQL Server 2008 and/or 2012.

Detailed knowledge of EDI transactions (e.g., 810, 850, 855, 856) and communications (e.g., AS2, FTP) and trading partner setup.

Ability to work independently toward project objectives in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

Skilled at communicating and obtaining information and assistance inside and outside of our organization.

Education/Training

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other appropriate field of study and/or equivalent work experience.

Sitting for periods of time, completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment.

Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with moderate standing, walking and reaching.
- May require lifting up to 10 lbs.

Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones.
