Asistant superintendents will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent during the construction of a Wastewater Treatment Plant in Yankton, SD. This position is to prepare employees for future field and/or office management.

Essential Functions & Duties:

• Assist Site Superintendent in directing personnel and sub-contractors engaged in planning and executing construction project work.
• Interpret specifications and coordinate various phases of the construction process to ensure goals are met related to schedule and budget.
• Provide knowledge in the areas of civil, structural, & mechanical. Troubleshoot and answer questions throughout all areas and phases of construction.
• Work on schedules for manpower, material and equipment.
• Coordinate with PM and Superintendent to issue purchase orders for all consumables, equipment, etc. Oversee the procurement & delivery of equipment, tools, & materials to ensure a continuous workflow.
• Continually inspect subcontractor work to ensure project is completed in accordance with specifications, schedule, and safety.
• Prepare and review reports that provide information about work progress, material usage, and costs incurred.
• Communicate with project manager regarding day to day activities of the project site.
• Assist Site Superintendent in advising senior level management of potential project problems and assist in resolution.

• Qualifications/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management or technically related field, preferred
• 1-3 years field construction experience, required
• 1-3 years industrial or water/waste-water construction, particularly heavy concrete & underground, preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, required
