Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Construction Management Director builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Construction Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Construction Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description

    AECOM/Hunt is seeking an experienced Construction Management Quality Assurance/Quality Control Director to create and lead a culture of Quality across the Hunt construction portfolio.  This exciting position can be located in any of the following markets: Indianapolis, IN, New York City, NY, Chicago, IL or Nashville, TN

    Responsibilities:

    • Drive and influence a positive QA/QC culture.
    • Lead QA/QC group in developing, maintaining, updating and upholding our QA/QC planning and execution functions.  
    • Proactive planning.
    • Act as a teammate and resource to project teams.
    • Work with project teams to create project specific QA/QC plans.
    • Be a visible QA/QC leader by traveling to projects as needed.  Establish regular touchpoints and cadence with project teams.  Interact with Clients regarding QA/QC.
    • Use sound working industry knowledge to identify early QA/QC exposures on a project / product specific basis and develop mitigation strategies to support teams.
    • Support the development of the onsite procedures.
    • Produce simple and functional working tools that centralize best practices and lessons learned for AECOM Hunt Construction to easily utilize.
    • Support project teams by helping craft project specific QA/QC procurement and bidding language.
    • Support project teams on developing temporary conditions and water management planning tactics. These could include, but are not limited to, winter conditions, temporary heat, building acclimatization / humidity control, temporary use of permanent equipment, safety handrail placement, temporary enclosures, temporary rain leaders … etc.   
    • As safety and quality go hand-in-hand, coordinate with safety to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Be an active partner with safety.  Engage safety often and coordinate synergies.
    • Teach and mentor project teams on proper review of submittals.
    • Participate in envelope kickoff meeting with all pertinent contractors. Review shop drawings, materials used, material transitions, weather applications / UV restrictions, confirm compatibility…etc.
    • Utilize process and system driven techniques to roll out and implement QA/QC Programs.
    • Lead in the creation & implementation of supplemental plans for tasks such as punch list, commissioning and work installation tracking.
    • Identify, modify and implement and support changes to plans and workflows as needed to meet demands of project.
    • Coordinate with Project Teams to maintain the project submittal process.
    • Develop material/equipment compliance review process with project teams. Review output with teams regularly.
    • Participate in pre-installation meetings to establish an understanding sequencing special considerations, timing, planning, inspections, and standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
    • Support PM staff in establishing mockup process and standards, while also driving the importance of quality/performance and adherence to standards.
    • Work with project teams, establish sound workflows using each project’s management software / tools. 
    • Train & support project teams on QA/QC workflows and procedures.
    • Participate in inspections with Authority Having Jurisdiction and project teams.
    • Ensure project teams are using Non-Conformance Logs and documenting Lessons Learned.
    • Establish metrics for tracking QA/QC measures / trends.
    • Other functions as necessary to drive positive QA/QC culture and execution.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirement:

    • BA/BS and 12 years of relevant construction quality control/quality assurance experience or AA/AS and 14 years of relevant experience or HS/GED and 16 years of relevant experience; including a minimum of 4 years of leadership or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Construction industry experience.

    Preferred Requirements: 

    • Minimum 10  years’ experience in the construction industry with QAQC experience
    • Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques
    • OSHA 30-hour certification
    • Ability to speak clearly and exercise good judgment.

    • Strong organization skills
    • Field experience / operational experience
    • Strong exterior façade expertise strongly preferred
    • Project Management system familiarity.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
    • Construction experience in preferred industries, such as: 
      • Stadiums/Sports Complexes
      • Airport construction
      • Hospitality
      • Life Science/Healthcare
      • High Rise Construction

    • Offered rate of compensation TN, NY, IL, IN, will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $92,869.86 - $171,809.24.
    • Please note that this role can be based in TN, NY, IL or IN and compensation data will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the stated range.
