    POSITION PURPOSE

    Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for vehicle loans, signature loans, credit cards and other collateral loans. Meets with applicants to discuss and explain credit policies, various lending products and other services. Assembles, evaluates, and approves loan applications that meet initial lending criteria. Assists members and prospective members through the process of applying for loans in a timely and professional manner. Provides general MSFCU information and cross-sells products and services.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Evaluate loan applications and verify the accuracy of the information provided to ensure a completed application is submitted to underwriting
    • Communicate and follow up with members, in a timely manner, as needed
    • Determine all applicable ratios to show the applicant’s credit worthiness within specified limits
    • Follow MSFCU policies and objectives at all times to achieve company and department goals
    • Solve problems accurately and efficiently
    • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all actions taken as required by law, regulation, and company policies and procedures
    • Represent MSFCU in a professional manner in all interactions with MSFCU members
    • Maintain confidentiality of member’s, employee’s, and company’s information
    • Obtain general knowledge on all lending products and other services for potential lending opportunities
    • Complete and explain all lending forms to applicants
    • Ensure complete loan packages are scanned in accurately and timely, as required
    • Must input rates and terms based on policies, rate sheets, and procedures
    • Know and discuss the lending products offered to protect approved loans
    • Remain organized and manage time well
    • Discuss loan denials with applicants, when necessary
    • Evaluate collateral and calculate loan to value ratios
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism in demeanor and in appearance
    • Establish and maintain professional business relationships with members and MSFCU employees
    • Collaborate with teammate and management to achieve common goals
    • Participate in MSFCU sponsored community outreach events, meetings and training as required
    • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
    • Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
    • Assume responsibility of other duties as assigned and/or required

    Required Experience:


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma, or equivalent
    • 2 years experience in lending
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages), and interpret and analyze financial data
    • Outgoing, detail oriented, and organized
    • High level of service and communication skills
    • Ability to learn and use related computer software, Microsoft Office products, and business equipment, including computers and copy machines

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with business accounts and loans
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills
    • Able to read and understand a credit report
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Flexible with shift priorities
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
    • Practice ethical behavior and understand the need for confidentiality
