Construction Foreman directly supervises workers' day-to-day work on construction or installation projects. Coordinates subcontractor scheduling and the delivery and placement of on-site materials and equipment as required to execute each project phase. Being a Construction Foreman monitors productivity and work quality to meet schedules and standards. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions. Additionally, Construction Foreman completes or tracks daily time and labor reports. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Construction Foreman supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Construction Foreman typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled Foremen to be a part of Story Construction’s leadership team! As a foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a crew of field staff to ensure work is being completed on time, with quality, and safely by monitoring the “Six Elements” (information, environment, manpower, materials, tools, and equipment). Foremen are also responsible for creating an environment that promotes the growth and retention of their crew members through mentorship and training. The Foreman typically reports to the site Superintendent.
FLSA Designation: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Summary of Duties:
Working Hours: Generally, expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from 7:00AM – 4:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
Qualifications:
Travel: Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected; Foremen are assigned to job sites located throughout central Iowa and across the state.

Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards. Job duties are often performed in close physical proximity to other people. Employees often work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue. Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards.
