Essential Functions
1. Presents programs, activities, and events to the general public, school groups, and special interest groups at Lincoln Log :
2. Becomes familiar with department rules, regulations, and park history :
3. Develops and implements the natural and outdoor recreational site’s interpretive program plan
4. Trains Park volunteers for ongoing needs or special events :
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualification
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in journalism, English, or public speaking
Preferred Qualifications
1. One (1) year of elementary knowledge of the principles of conservation and / or historical education
2. One (1) year of courses in parks & recreation, historic preservation, wildlife resources, related biological or environmental sciences, fisheries, forestry, biology, or ecology
3. Two (2) years of professional experience in a public education and information program in a public or private agency
4. One (1) year of experience using cameras, projectors, recorders, and outdoor equipment.
5. One (1) year of experience presenting ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
6. One (1) year of experience preparing reports and keeping records on conservation education activities
7. One (1) year of experience in public speaking
