Being a Conservation Technician may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Conservation Technician relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     National Capital Parks - East (NACE) includes several park sites such as Anacostia Park, Capitol Hill Parks Fort Washington Park, Greenbelt Park, and various other historic and recreational areas in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. Its mission is to conserve and manage these resources for the benefit of the public while promoting education, recreation, and cultural understanding.

    Position Responsibilities will include:

    • Creation of news releases
    • Responding to media and public queries
    • Planning and executing media and community engagement events
    • Creating social media content that raises brand awareness and increases engagement
    • Creation of audio & visual explanatory storytelling products such as infographics and videos.

    Translating science, engineering, natural resources management and land use planning content into plain language products so affected people can make informed decisions more easily

    Benefits:

    • Hourly pay: $17.50/hour $200/week in housing assistance
    • Trainings available: Weekly communication trainings, introductory training for public communicators, and more



    Required Experience
    • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelors in marketing, communications, or a similar field preferred
    • Experience managing social media or marketing professionally may be substituted for education
