Conflicts Manager manages and directs all aspects of the conflicts department. Oversees the process of conflict resolution with clients and third party to maintain good vendor relationship. Being a Conflicts Manager coordinates with the attorneys and mediators to prevent potential conflicts. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Conflicts Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Conflicts Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Conflicts Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. This critical, Wichita-based position will support all of our locations by proactively identifying and managing quality, risk, professional conflicts of interest, and other business risks that we face regarding new and existing clients.Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing database of existing and potential clients using Firm software and other resources
- Preparing reports from analyzed data to be distributed to appropriate parties
- Maintaining the integrity and completeness of Firm databases
- Communicating with Attorneys and Staff regarding conflict of interest procedures and results
- Facilitating potential new client intake by gathering relevant information and communicating the next steps
- Providing excellent customer service by communicating professionally and effectively with all parties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:- Ability to objectively assess and evaluate information to form reasonable judgements
- Applies logical arguments and reasoning to develop rational and goal-directed thought
- Exercises good judgement with appropriate attention to detail
- Capacity to increase knowledge of legal terminology and complex relationships
- Ability to correctly prioritize tasks and meet quick deadlines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Law firm experience desired
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
