Minimum Qualifications Required for transfer:
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Computer Operator or a title eligible for under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Minimum Qualifications Required for Appointment HELPS Appointment:
Computer Operator Trainee: high school diploma/high school equivalency diploma.
Computer Operator Journey level: high school diploma/high school equivalency diploma and six months full-time experience in the operation of large scale/commercial printing equipment OR six months full- time experience in the operation of a mainframe or medium to large server or complex, multi-variable print production.
Candidates eligible for consideration under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law are also encouraged to apply. Individuals certified eligible for the 55-b/c program must meet the education and experience qualifications stated above.
