    The ideal candidate will be service-oriented, possessing exceptional customer service skills. This individual will be responsible for providing outstanding end-user support for Technology Services. This includes, but is not limited to, support for end-user computer systems, portable devices, multi-function copiers, network access, email systems, and supported software applications.

    A key requirement for this role is the ability to work both independently and eficiently, analyzing situations and providing assistance without supervision. Simultaneously, the candidate must be able to collaborate effectively as part of a team.

    As a Computer Technician, the candidate will ensure the daily functionality of all end-user systems by providing technical support to all end-users, ranging from students to college administration. This role involves delivering high- quality customer service, which includes effective listening and questioning to fully understand the end-user's inquiry.

    The candidate will stay updated with the latest web browsers, operating systems, and applications used on campus. They will also participate in cross-functional IT projects, assist in testing system upgrades and new applications, and help supervise student workers.

    The Computer Technician role requires a high degree of flexibility. The individual must be prepared to work during evenings, holidays, and weekends, when necessary, even when the college is not in session. This role requires a balance of individual initiative and team collaboration to ensure the smooth operation of our technology services.

    Key Job Functions:

    • The Computer Technician will administer, develop, setup, configure, troubleshoot, properly recycle and maintain client desktops, laptops, and mobile for the college. The Technician is responsible for software installation and upgrades, software troubleshooting, image creation and deployment, and patch maintenance.
    • Maintain and develop documentation for the Technology Services department relative to hardware and software in the assigned client areas.
    • Will work with clients, coworkers and Technical Support Manager to analyze both hardware and software needs and assist in developing plans to satisfy those needs and will make hardware and software acquisition recommendations based on client needs. Assists clients in the use of computer hardware, software and peripherals and provide instruction or written documentation where required.
    • Provide support for printer and copier related issues.
    • Keep current with technology developments by researching and testing new hardware and software.
    • Assist in the development of short and long-range departmental goals and objectives.
    • Review, input, and update work orders from the work order system (Team Dynamix) as well as actively contribute to the central knowledge base within the work order system.
    • Assist in the supervision of student workers and assist them in completing department goals and objectives.
    • Broad knowledge of troubleshooting procedures and good analytic skills. Proficient in all skills, policies, procedures and protocol required to complete assigned tasks.
    • Keep abreast of industry technologies to enhance technical skills. Provide feedback and make recommendations for implementation of those that can be effectively applied.
    • Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent customer service at all times, to include maintaining a good work ethic and assisting other technicians when needed.
    • May be required to work on the Wellsville campus, requiring the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Understand and adhere to FERPA regulations.
    • Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to internal and external groups of various levels of responsibility.
    • Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with a wide range of employees, managers, vendors and professional organizations. Extensively work with all facets of Technology Services.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    An associate degree in a computer discipline with demonstrated client services experience OR equivalent work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
    • Windows 11, Macintosh, iOS and Android experience
    • Microsoft O?ce Suites including Microsoft 365
    • Demonstratable hardware/software troubleshooting experience
    • Knowledge of Active Directory and Intune (Azure)
    • Printers (HP, Canon and Toshiba) in a large-scale environment (Pharos experience preferred)
    • Image deployment experience (SCCM experience preferred)
