IT Project Manager / Coordinator UX Design Strategy
(Remote but 1 day a month on site): Allentown, PA 18101

Description:

• We're looking for a creative and dynamic Design Strategist to join our innovative team. We are seeking a forward-thinking UX Design Strategist with a proven track record in supporting design initiatives, managing project workflows within dynamic environments, and helping to ensure that design teams are efficient, effective, and aligned with broader business goals.
• This position involves strategic planning, process improvement, and resource management to enhance the productivity and impact of design initiatives. The strategist works closely with design leaders and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, implement best practices, and facilitate collaboration.
• Responsibilities may include managing project timelines, resources, and implementing tools and systems to track performance and project progress.
• By focusing on operational excellence, a Design Operations Strategist helps to create a supportive environment where designers can focus on innovation and creativity, ultimately driving the organization s success in delivering user-centered design solutions.
• This position reports to the Manager of Design Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead some project management aspects of design projects, such as work focus each sprint, team member allocations, and overall status.
• Co-manage design workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
• Facilitate collaboration between UX designers, researchers, and cross-functional team members to create cohesive and innovative design solutions.
• Co-develop and maintain project timelines and scopes, adapting plans as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Collaborate closely with our UX Design Teams to write and refine UX briefs and UX Work Plans.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain high-quality standards under tight deadlines.
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor s Degree (or 5 years' experience) in Design, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 Years of Experience in a design operation, project management, or a similar role within a design or creative team.
• Strong Knowledge of Design Processes and methodologies, including an understanding of how to optimize workflows for design teams.
• Experience with Project Management Tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Project Online, etc.) and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, etc.).
• Exceptional Organizational Skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to different stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
• Ability to work flexibly, including outside standard office hours, to support executive needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Design Agency Experience: Candidates with a background in working for or with design agencies will be highly regarded.
• Experience in writing UX Briefs, with a willingness to deepen knowledge in UX design principles.
• Strong Financial Acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize design operations without compromising creative quality.
• Experience with Design Thinking Workshops, indicating the ability to facilitate creative problem-solving sessions that align team efforts with user needs and business goals.
• Knowledge of User Experience (UX) Design Principles, providing a deeper understanding of how design operations support the creation of user-centered design solutions.
