What you will be doing

Main responsibilities 

1. Monitors and maintains IT systems, escalates and reports any deviations to Operations supervisor in a timely manner. 
2. Monitors environmental hardware, such as UPS, HVAC, SiteScan, and water and fire detection.  Attempts to resolve problems per resolution procedures, and escalate to Operations Supervisor as necessary. 
3. Operates multiple systems and peripheral equipment in accordance with operations instructions. 
4. Follows operations procedures to troubleshoot and resolve problems, to include peripheral hardware, OS, Albertsons applications, and software. 
5. Ensures responsive and accurate delivery of tapes requested by our Automated Tape Mount system; proper scratch levels are maintained; Performs tape library inventory and audit control functions. 
6. Provides timely and accurate preparation of disaster recovery tapes for shipping and receiving. 
7. Executes ad-hoc request jobs to assist Operations Analysts and development. 
8. Processes work as per run documentation and in sequence called for in the Operations run schedule.  Resolves or escalates deviations. 
9. Performs routine procedures under the supervision of experienced Operations staff, and Operations Supervisor. 
10. Completes other duties or adhoc projects as assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Lead Operator relating to mainframe or mid-range systems processing, monitoring, problem resolution, or reporting. 
11. Logs and reports all problems for trend analysis.  
12. In accordance with the progression of position, increases knowledge and technical expertise on IT Operations tool set (i.e. Omegamon, SLS0, MVS, JES, TSO, Openview, PreAlert, Eco-tools,  PC software suite etc..), and increases ability to monitor and maintain system and application performance to meet established business service levels across assigned domains by utilizing these tools.
