Computer Operations Shift Supervisor supervises and monitors the computer operations of one or more shifts. Leads the operating and monitoring of computer equipment and delegates workflow as necessary. Being a Computer Operations Shift Supervisor uses established procedures to perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and its peripherals. Observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on the monitor of the terminal to identify faulty output or machine stoppage. Additionally, Computer Operations Shift Supervisor may require an associate degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     Job Summary: This role leads, oversees, coordinates and facilitates activities related to the manufacturing of medical devices, ensuring safety, quality and compliance with achieving production goals, efficiency and yield targets and cost objectives.  Responsible for producing, tracking and managing the associated metrics, including Quality, Customer Service, Cost, People Development and Innovation for the responsible areas. Drive Lean Effort and Team engagement to meet the overall business result.

    • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
    • Monitors personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
    • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; and resolving problems
    • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing Company standards
    • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
    • Leads the team creating respect, open communication, positive and team-oriented work environment
    • Communicates and escalates as necessary to ensure targets are met
    • Leads or participates in continuous Improvement projects leveraging Lean "lighthouse", Kaizens and other lean methodology to improve quality, increasing capacity, improving efficiency, reducing scrap improve space utilization and other activities as business needs
    • Ensures equipment, tools, fixtures, gages and measuring devices are properly used, maintained and calibrated in responsible area.
    • Establishes an environment for a safe and secure facility and utilize employee participation to improve the environment. Enhances the level of housekeeping and cleanliness and provide essentials for continual quality improvements. Ensures compliance to all OSHA training requirements and regulations
    • Completes all related and assigned administrative tasks in a timely manner
    • Performs the job while adhering and enforcing all company policies and procedures
    • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned

    Education/Certification/Licensing:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline preferred


    Required Experience/Skills:

    -     3-5 years’ experience in business, operations, or manufacturing, preferably in medical device or other highly regulated industry

    -     Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred

    -     ERP system experience such as Visual a plus

    -     Must have the ability to resolve daily production problems

    -     Understanding of team dynamics, and ability to maximize organizational results

    -     Self-starter with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision

    -     Knowledge of MS Suite

    -     Strong written and verbal communication skills

    -     Must be self-motivated and work successfully as part of a team

    -     Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs

                                           Works near moving mechanical parts in a warehouse environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as defined by Medin Technologies is required and will be provided.

    stooping:                     Bending downward and forward at the waist.  Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles.

    kneeling:                     Resting on knee or knees.

    crouching:                   Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine.

    reaching:                     Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

    standing:                     For extended periods of time.

    lifting:                         Use of upper body and back muscles to lift totes or boxes.

    finger dexterity:      Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

    grasping:                     Using fingers and palm on an object.

    TALKING:                        Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

    HEARING:                       Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

    REPETITIVE MOTIONS:  Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and fingers.

    VISUAL ABILITIES:         Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
