Computer Operations Shift Supervisor supervises and monitors the computer operations of one or more shifts. Leads the operating and monitoring of computer equipment and delegates workflow as necessary. Being a Computer Operations Shift Supervisor uses established procedures to perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and its peripherals. Observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on the monitor of the terminal to identify faulty output or machine stoppage. Additionally, Computer Operations Shift Supervisor may require an associate degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. This position is 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Efficiently directing day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, production, maintenance of equipment, shipping, receiving, and inventory of materials, as well as appropriate scheduling for PTO or unexpected leaves of absences
* Inspecting production output for accuracy and quality
* Providing feedback on needed staffing, supplies, and equipment based on forecasted volumes
* Mentoring, developing and expanding talent and performance initiatives throughout the location
* Identifying and creating continuous process improvement opportunities
* Ensuring warehouse staff are trained in health, safety, and environmental practices pertinent to their positions as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) and Company policies
* Providing direction and coaching in safe work practices; supporting safety goals
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Position Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or college degree in operations management or business management preferred
* 1-3 years' experience, preferably in the metal processing/distributing industry with at least 2 years supervisory experience
* Solid understanding of the local state/provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
* SAP experience preferred
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of statistical process control, warehousing, material handling, equipment operation and transportation regulations and procedures preferred
* Effective delegation, employee development and team leadership skills
