Computer Operations Shift Supervisor supervises and monitors the computer operations of one or more shifts. Leads the operating and monitoring of computer equipment and delegates workflow as necessary. Being a Computer Operations Shift Supervisor uses established procedures to perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and its peripherals. Observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on the monitor of the terminal to identify faulty output or machine stoppage. Additionally, Computer Operations Shift Supervisor may require an associate degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Heidelberg Materials is seeking a night shift Operations Supervisor for our Port Canaveral Slag Plant and Terminal located in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This position will report directly to the Assistant Plant Manager.
What you’ll get to do- Promote safe work habits and provide safe working conditions – lead daily team meetings, ensure job tasks are completed as per job procedures, and demonstrate leadership towards all company safety policies.
- Plan and schedule plant maintenance to maximize productivity and optimize the utilization of manpower, resources, and equipment.
- Supervise and direct production crews, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, as well as daily, weekly, and annual performance objectives.
- Develop and communicate employee work schedules and approve worked time.
- Report daily production and track KPI’s of plant performance.
- Ensure material production meets required quality control standards.
- Assist in safe usage of existing ground stock.
- Schedule plant and mobile repair and maintenance internally and with outside vendors.
- Ensure proper staffing levels are kept for the efficiency of the plant at all times.
- 5 years of work experience in maintenance/production or at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related industry.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and respectfully.
- Composure, and the ability to professionally present information to, and respond to questions from others.
- Ability, desire, and motivation that align with the work environment, fluctuating shift schedules, extended periods of time moving back and forth to all areas of the plant, and occasionally lift heavy objects and work in awkward/confined spaces.
- Working knowledge of maintenance/production equipment and processes.
- Analytical abilities and comfort with using data and objective information for making decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Project team experience.
- Union and non-union environments.
- Capability and desire to develop within organization.
- Role operates in a continuous manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
