Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer jobs in Springfield, IL

Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     1. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical training and two years’ experience

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Plan and develop detailed programming procedures and instructions

    2. Analyze, modify and revise established programs to adapt to changes in needs and requirements of the District

    3. Write complex programs and assist in making program changes in developing or converting data processing applications

    4. Develop and apply cross checks and auditing procedures to assure accuracy and reliable practices

    5. Assist in providing support and programming for the District Information system, financial accounting system and other software packages

    6. Work collaboratively with district staff on uploading and maintaining file formats to the Illinois State Board of Education and other cooperative outside companies and agencies.
