Growing Aerospace/Energy precision machining shop located in Romulus, Michigan is seeking a CNC Programmer/Analyst for full-time employment. Ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of machining processes (e.g., turning-(major focus), milling, EDM, inspection) and functional understanding of AS9100, internal auditing. Candidate must be able to read/interpret customer drawings/specifications and be well-versed in CAM/CAD tools and Microsoft Office products.
Job Description:
Main role as CNC Programmer will be to develop, maintain and improve machining and general manufacturing processes through development of CNC programs and operator instructions. Secondary role will be to support Quality function as new products are developed and perform routine audits and data entry.
Responsibilities Include:
· Demonstrated experience processing precision machined parts ( /- 0.001” typical).
· Interpret customer drawings and specifications.
· CNC programming (lathes, 3-5 axis mills, sinker EDMs, wire EDMs)
· CMM programing (Zeiss and Wenzel)/layout and inspection strategies
· Troubleshoot production issues.
· Develop process sketches and instructions.
· Some fixture/tooling design
· Perform job audits as necessary.
· Support Quality function.
o Generate First Article Inspection Reports and assist with PPAP packages.
o Perform Periodic Internal Product and Process Audits.
o Upload data to customer portals.
o Maintain document control.
o Act as backup DSQR/DPRV
Basic Qualifications
· Associate degree in manufacturing engineering technology and/or minimum 5 years machining experience (turning and milling)
· Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
· Proficient in CAD and CAM software—Mastercam (CAM) and Key Creator (CAD)-- bonus
· Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
· Ability to support manufacturing schedules which may include some Saturday work.
· Occasional need to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
· Solid interpersonal skills.
· Due to nature of U.S. government military work candidate must be a U.S. Person

o Background in Heat Treat and Brazing or other joining processes
o Familiarity/proficiency in machining of super alloys
o Demonstrated processing of larger diameter parts (65”-90” diameter)
