Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Summary:
    Under general supervision, analyzes computer user needs, defines software application goals, and develops computer software applications while assuring the stability and reliability of the ANTHC computer systems.

    Responsibilities:

    Develops, analyzes and modifies new and existing computer software program components. Develops and troubleshoots application problems for ANTHC staff. Designs application interfaces.

    Performs coding, testing and debugging activities to check for faults and errors. Maintains and updates integrated software applications. Designs application enhancements, interfaces and revised functions. Assures proper integration with other computer systems; coordinates work necessary to meet user requirements.

    Develops programming solutions for application components. Participates in internal customer meetings to analyze and identify technology needs. Analyzes trends and issues.

    Defines concerns and problems of user community; interprets concerns, defines desired results, and creates program coding solutions. Documents the current system work flow processes, activities, data elements and overall program goals and objectives.

    Develops project plan and obtains approval for the design of application programming. Develops and deploys new application. Conducts system test and maintenance activities after implementation. Monitors application functionality and tunes it for optimum performance. Prepares technical documentation of new application, and procedural manuals for the users.

    Provides referral to supervisor when problems occur which are beyond the skills of the Computer Programmer/Analyst; and tracks the problem until it has been resolved.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    · Knowledge of computer application development, implementation and analysis techniques.

    · Knowledge of techniques and procedures for coding, testing and debugging computer software programs.

    · Knowledge of the development of computer system documentation and procedural manuals.

    · Knowledge of networked computer system environments and device capabilities.

    · Knowledge of network system access and security guidelines and procedures.

    · Knowledge of network hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.

    · Knowledge of MUMPS, C , RPG, SQL, Visual Languages, MS Windows, AS400 OS.

    · Knowledge of UNIX and NT network operating systems, and other software applications.

    · Skill in developing computer programs using different programming languages and operating systems.

    · Skill in solving technical process problems involving integrated operating systems and hardware platforms.

    · Skill in using required software programming languages.

    · Skill in analyzing and modeling multi-functional data flows and infrastructure requirements.

    · Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.

    · Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.

    · Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

    A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

    Non-supervisory – Three (3) years of computer enterprise programming experience An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
