Computer Equipment Repairer installs, configures and repairs computer systems and related equipment at user's location. Provides ongoing support and preventative maintenance on an as needed basis. Being a Computer Equipment Repairer maintains an inventory of repair parts and documents status of repair orders. Areas of support typically include desktop/laptop computers, printers and other peripheral equipment, as well as basic software and networking support. Additionally, Computer Equipment Repairer may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Computer Equipment Repairer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Computer Equipment Repairer typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Enlist as a soldier into the United States Army and become a certified Computer / Detection Systems Repairer who performs or supervises field and sustainment level maintenance and repair on microcomputers and electromechanical telecommunications equipment, Field Artillery digital devices, Global Positioning System receivers, switchboards, telephones, associated wire instruments/equipment, night vision devices/equipment, laser and fiber optic systems, mine detection and dispensing systems, battlefield illumination devices, electronic azimuth determining devices, and nuclear, biological, and chemical warning and measuring devices. This is not a civilian contractor position. No experience necessary. Position is entry level.
JOB DUTIES:- Repair the most advanced computer systems to ensure they’re in top operating condition, keeping equipment functioning, and making sure the Army is never at a disadvantage
- Repair everything from electromechanical telecommunications equipment to field artillery digital devices, from Global Positioning System receivers to night vision devices and equipment, and even laser and fiber optic systems
PAID TRAINING:- 10 weeks of Basic Training.
- 25 weeks of Technical School with on-the-job instructions.
