Compliance Manager manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Compliance Manager oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Compliance Manager evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic is looking for a full-time Clinical Compliance Manager to join our team!

    The Clinical Compliance Manager oversees all compliance activities within the medical clinic, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks associated with non-compliance. The Compliance Manager collaborates with clinic staff to promote a culture of compliance, conducts audits and investigations, provides training on compliance-related matters, and serves as a liaison with regulatory agencies. By staying abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices, the Compliance Manager ensures the clinic operates ethically and efficiently while safeguarding patient confidentiality and quality of care.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to the specific needs of the medical clinic.
    2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance risks and areas for improvement, including billing and coding practices, patient privacy, and quality of care.
    3. Collaborate with clinic management and staff to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    4. Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations, updating policies and procedures accordingly to maintain compliance.
    5. Investigate allegations of non-compliance, including incidents of fraud, waste, or abuse, and take appropriate disciplinary or corrective measures.
    6. Provide training and education to clinic staff on compliance-related topics, such as HIPAA regulations, fraud prevention, and documentation requirements.
    7. Maintain documentation of compliance activities, including audit findings, investigations, training sessions, and policy updates.
    8. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries, requests for information, and audits.
    9. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as legal counsel, professional organizations, and industry associations, to stay informed of best practices and emerging compliance issues.
    10. Prepare reports for clinic management and governing bodies on compliance activities, trends, and outcomes.
    11. Lead or participate in compliance committees and initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the clinic.
    12. Stay current on industry trends and developments in healthcare compliance through ongoing professional development and networking.
    Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, legal studies, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, preferably in a clinic or outpatient setting.
    3. Certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC, CHPC) preferred.
    4. Thorough understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
    5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and influence staff at all levels of the organization.
    7. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
    8. Proficiency in using compliance software and tools for tracking, reporting, and documentation purposes.
    9. Leadership abilities, including the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and drive change.
    10. Commitment to maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct and integrity in healthcare operations.
    11. Ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
