Compliance Manager (Banking) jobs in Albany, OR

Compliance Manager (Banking) supervises daily operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Manager (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Manager (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Manager (Banking) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compliance Manager (Banking) typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Primary oversight in this role will include general ledger accounting, GAAP compliance, audit management and other finance activities as assigned.
    • Leads and manages the VSI Group lease accounting, fixed assets accounting, and acquisition accounting ensuring that the latest accounting standards are being complied with.
    • Leads and manages the various audits of the VSI Group ensuring that audits are completed on a timely basis.
    • Leads and manages the Standard Operating Procedures of the VSI Group to ensure that these are updated on a regular basis and are consistent among VSI group entities.
    • Assures corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
    • Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes data, and enhance the company's value.
    • Responds to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his operational needs.
    • Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports.
    • Assists in the development and execution of special projects as assigned by management.
    • Represents VSI in a professional manner at all times.
    • Excellent attendance and dependability is an essential requirement of this job and have the ability to work overtime as needed/required.
    • Establishes and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, management, customers, and vendors/suppliers to create value and opportunity for VSI growth.
    • Based on business needs, may be required to travel periodically.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor, appearance and conduct at all times.
    • Attends mandatory staff meetings and participates in group discussions.
    • Performs other job-related job tasks, work assignments and/or special projects as directed/assigned by Management.
