Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Understands banking regulations such as the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-money laundering laws. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The United Sorghum Checkoff Program (USCP) is the national checkoff program for sorghum farmers. USCP is responsible for promotion, research, and information programs for the U.S. sorghum industry. The Sorghum Promotion, Research, and Information Order is implemented under the authority of “Commodity Promotion, Research, and Information Act of 1996.” USCP has hired the National Sorghum Producers (NSP) as the management entity for the checkoff. This position will be managed as a USCP employee.
The Compliance Director maintains compliance of agreements and assessments and supports operations of USCP.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; and/or two years business or related experience and/or training in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A background in a legal-related position is a plus.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, technical procedures or government regulations and to write reports, business correspondence, agreements and procedure manuals are required. Communicate effectively and respond appropriately to outside inquiries from producers, board members, governmental agencies, industry representatives and the general public as needed.
The individual must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, values, or other related quantitative findings as needed. The individual must be able to construct graphical, numerical, and statistical interpretations of data.
The individual must have the ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions based on producer, industry and marketing data related to assessments.

The individual will be based out of the NSP Office located in Lubbock, TX and will require travel as necessary to attend external and internal meetings, review, and other items as needed to perform such duties.
