Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Director (Banking) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compliance Director (Banking) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • The Director of Compliance will be responsible for overseeing Biden for President’s fundraising compliance in accordance with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations. Candidates should have a positive attitude, an ability to work quickly under pressure, and an aptitude for handling sensitive information and materials with discretion. Attention to detail, time management skills, and strong writing skills are essential requirements for this position. The position will report to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Process and maintain NGP database of campaign contributions, in-kind donations, disbursements, and refunds
    • Work closely with the Compliance and Vetting teams at the DNC to ensure compliance with internal policies and joint fundraising parameters
    • Assist the FEC reporting team with data integrity and cleanup leading up to FEC reporting deadlines
    • Liaise with the Finance team to accurately process and record Major Donor contributions
    • Monitor donations from organizations such as PACs, partnerships, sole proprietorships, committees, and other entities in keeping with FEC regulations
    • Confirm permissibility of contributions from donors with foreign addresses, unregistered committees, and others
    • Manage compliance related correspondence including best efforts and safe harbor letters
    • Conduct independent research and provide succinct reports
    • Oversee additional projects at the discretion of the Deputy COO
    • Other duties as assigned


    Preferred Skills & Qualifications
    • 5 years of experience working with political or non-profit organizations required
    • Knowledge of campaign finance rules and FEC reporting regulations required
    • Experience with using the compliance database software, NGP, required
    • Excellent data management skills; Google Sheets experience, including proven ability to create functions and reports
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
    • Ability to handle projects with the appropriate level of discretion and confidentiality
    • A team player that recognizes the importance of working collaboratively
    • Ability to work well under pressure with humor and grace
