Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Director (Banking) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compliance Director (Banking) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Key Accountabilities: * Drives development and execution of the business line's growth and profitability strategy; plays an integral role in the implementation process. Ensures each retail unit operates in support of the Bank's strategic goals and objectives and within established budgets. Provides senior management support to business lines on various initiatives including marketing, small business and commercial deposit campaigns; incentive compensation; compliance disclosures, sales force, CRM and operational effectiveness. Leads execution and communication plan of business line priorities. * Accountable for P&L, business line budgets and cot analysis. Participates in various product development initiatives while ensuring objectives are achieved and costs are controlled. Manages relevant information systems and operational services to internal and external customers. * Identifies and capitalizes on market, industry and economic opportunities. In partnership with line of business executives, develops strategic solutions and plans to fit client needs and deliver best in class products and service. Leads efforts to develop and implement sales and service enhancements to promote growth and add value to our clients. * Utilizes key performance metrics including business line scorecards, pipeline and cross-sell activity to analyze results and integrate findings for continuous improvement and execution of the relationship banking model. * Establishes compliance policies and procedures and works in collaboration with other departments to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness. Serves on various internal committees. * Provides leadership, motivation, Coaches, mentors, and trains Regional Managers to develop relationship building sales culture and exceptional customer experience. Ensures optimum team and individual performance in support of the Bank's goals and objectives. Performs managerial activities including recruiting, goal setting, performance management and appraisals, training, salary recommendations and staffing changes and ensures goals and objectives are in line with overall Bank objectives. * Champions the execution of retail distribution which includes centralized communication, sales reporting, data management, and campaign development and execution. * Supports the design, development and administration of incentive program and associated sales practices. May serve on several Bank committees and related project teams as the financial center sales and service resource for the company. * Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
