We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Coordinator to join a well-established company in a department that is rapidly growing and expanding with new partners and in new jurisdictions.
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and compliance support to the Claims and Legal Departments for coverage matters. The Compliance Coordinator works across departments in support of operational efficiency and provides support on additional projects and compliance-related processes as needed.
Key Functions:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Reviews and updates all coverage letters to ensure accuracy of policy details, policy support references, and as a final safeguard ensures letters are free of grammatical and spelling errors.
• Manages email communications between Claims, Legal and outside counsel regarding coverage letters ensuring communication is documented appropriately and organized within the company’s imaging system and coverage folders.
• Sends all coverage letters via email and certified mail.
• Coordinates and schedules meetings regarding coverage matters with Claims, Legal, and external counsel.
• Tracks coverage letter process and due dates through Smartsheet, ensuring all deadlines are met based on deadlines set by each state’s Office of Insurance Commissioner.
• Develops and maintains state-specific templates in compliance of state requirements.
• Implements new strategies to increase efficiency and timeliness of compliance processes.
• Develops and maintains desk procedures for compliance responsibilities.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• 4-year college, or university degree, or equivalent industry experience
• 2 to 5 years of experience in office, administrative, and customer service.
• Experience in regulatory compliance in legal services, medical malpractice, commercial lines marketing, or related insurance experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
• Experience with Smartsheet and document imaging systems is preferred
• Ability to thrive in a flexible work environment, where tasks may vary and evolve, and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and assignments as needed
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently with appropriate oversight
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
The salary range for this position is $58,400 to $87,000. Starting salary is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for an annual company bonus at an incentive target level of 5%.
