Compliance Coordinator
SUMMARY:
Coordinates day to day activities at the branch level regarding compliance matters and is responsible for accurate recordkeeping/documentation with support from corporate compliance managers & site managers. Coordinates and provides support for all integrated management plans/activities and ensures compliance to standards of the organization and maintains records for the same. This position will report to the District Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Maintains compliance with oversight from site & corporate compliance management on federal, state, local laws/codes, regulations, standards, and best practices. This includes but not limited overall compliance for: Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, EPCRA (TIER II, TRI), RMP, FDA, and OSHA (PSM, Industrial Hygiene, and other safety programs). The selected candidate will work closely with internal Harcros subject matter experts on each of these programs to gain familiarity with the specific compliance requirements for each government agency.
- Facility projects to include but not limited to: maintenance, environmental improvement, waste minimization, cost savings, recycling, construction, and renovations.
- Conducts environmental and safety training for employees as required.
- Conducts incident investigations and as required.
- Coordinate NACD audit at the local location.
- Develops and/or maintains site specific documentation to include procedures, hazard analysis, etc..
- Supports quality/process improvements and maintenance programs including management of change, document control, and corrective action documentation.
- Support day to day operations if needed.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Two to four years related experience and/or training.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four- year college or university preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and ability to use related computer software such as Excel and word processing programs. Must be able to create spreadsheets, reports and presentations as needed.
- Knowledge of chemical industry and internal corporate control functions preferred.
- Organized with excellent written and communication skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
