Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Ethics and Compliance Officer, and the Facility Ethics and Compliance Committee (FECC), coordinates the system of internal controls and evaluates the quality of performance in carrying out ethics and compliance policies and assigned responsibilities. Recommends improvements to the ECO and FECC committee. Maintains record logs of internal control activities for Ethics and Compliance. Functions as a member of the FECC committee. As FPO, must define and implement a process to routinely monitor compliance with the Company and facility specific policies and procedures, the HIPAA Privacy Standards, and HITECH requirements. As designated Facility Records Management Coordinator, will be responsible for implementing and maintaining records management program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews the reliability and integrity of financial and operating information and the means used to identify, measure, classify, and report such information.

Reviews the systems established to ensure compliance with those policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations, which could have a significant impact on operations and reports. Provides staff education on Ethics and Compliance, 1-IIP AA/HJTEC H and Records Management related policies.

Appraises the economy and efficiency with which resources arc employed.

Reviews operations or programs to ascertain whether results are consistent with established objectives / goals and whether the operations or programs (E&C, HIPPA Privacy, and Records Management) are being carried out as planned.

Reviews systems established to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, especially in relation to corporate compliance programs.

Compiles information pertaining to audits for department review or market audit: Lab, Pharmacy, Advance Beneficiary Notice, Choice Letter, MOT, Transfer Disposition, Medicare Patient Discharge Appeal Rights Notification, Cert/Re-cert, Physician Credentials, and HR files.

Coordinates, directs, and provides education of the Company's Corporate Compliance and Privacy Program, to ensure its currency and relevance in providing guidance to management, employees and orienteers’.

Institutes, maintains and revises policies and procedures consistent with Del Sol Compliance and Privacy Program for the general operation of the program and related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

Assist with Reportable Events documentation.

Distribution of all new policies and procedures to the appropriate facility personnel.

Prepares Ql cumulative summary and assists with ECO quarterly reports.

Maintain Business Courtesy log per physician; distribute monthly report to Directors and physician liaisons routinely.

Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program, including promoting (a) use of the "Hotline", (c) heightened awareness of Del Sol Standards of Conduct, and (d) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related to policies and procedures

Conducts investigations of alleged violations of law, Del Sol Standards of Conduct, or as may be determined, in consultation with Ethics and Compliance Officer (ECO), Co-ECO, Division ECO, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and General Counsel.

Keeps all records and files for the department (Ethics, HIPPA Privacy, and Records Management)

Conduct monthly Privacy Rounds in randomly selected areas (Clinical/ Non-Clinical; on-site/off-site).

Responsible for Company, Patient, and State Reporting in the event of a HIPAA/HITECH privacy violation.

Conduct investigation and provide corrective action appropriately as dictated as per Corporate and Facility Sanction Policy standards.

Coordinates Facility Ethics and Compliance Committee Quarterly
-
Reporting all Monitoring Findings to the Committee Charged with Privacy Oversight (FECC).

Records Management Liaison for the department.

Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associated Degree required or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience

Proficient in excel and power point
