Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. jobs in Taunton, MA
Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. monitors customer accounts and researches transactions to identify suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses customer data mining and software tools to identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. reviews daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Questionable Activity Reports (QAR), and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) as appropriate. Ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols. Additionally, Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. may lead or participate in investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Keeps abreast with regulatory changes, risk management best practices, and trending methods used by fraud perpetrators. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide a well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Summary:
The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the organization and its subsidiaries are compliant with federal and state regulations regarding transactional reporting. Primarily, they will gather and analyze applicable data, and report to regulatory entities in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for data reporting for all entities in the organization across all states in which the entities hold a license or permit and/or conduct business transactions.
- Support control of legal costs by adhering to various due dates and frequencies of reporting which vary by state (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual) to avoid penalties and interest fees.
- Review current reporting methodology and processes to identify improvement opportunities, including automation where possible.
- Generate and maintain process documentation for all required reporting.
- Respond to any inquiries and notifications received from federal and state regulators regarding transactional reporting.
- Work collaboratively with Finance and Accounting, Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3 years of relevant compliance experience.
- Experience with tight deadlines and proven track record of meeting timelines with high accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven leader, change agent and self-starter with continuous improvement mindset.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to turn ideas into action while working with cross functional teams.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, filters, etc.) required.
