Compensation and Benefits Supervisor leads a team in developing, implementing, communicating, and administering compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Supervises daily compensation and benefit operations including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis, planning for health and welfare, retirement, and work life benefits. Being a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor coordinates with outsourced providers. May provide customer support to managers and staff with compensation or benefits questions. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Provides administrative assistance and support on a variety of Human Resources initiatives and projects, with a focus on data and compensation. Acts as a Human Resources liaison to employees and management. Troubleshoots and resolves various human resources issues using current policies, plan documents and departmental guidelines.
- Require an Associate Degree in Business or related field. Relevant experience in Human Resources or Human Resources Information Systems may substitute on a year for year basis for the required degree.
- Require one (1) year of recent related experience, preferably in Human Resources with a similarly sized healthcare institution. A Bachelor's degree in related field can be considered in lieu of experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Prefer demonstrated experience with Human Resources systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle, Lawson, etc.).
- Prefer demonstrated experience with Time and Attendance systems (API, Kronos, etc.).
- Prefer excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines.
- Prefer ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, possess strong customer service, conflict resolution, and service recovery skills.
- Prefer strong analytical skills.
- Prefer ability to exercise sound discretionary judgment and effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
