Compensation and Benefits Supervisor leads a team in developing, implementing, communicating, and administering compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Supervises daily compensation and benefit operations including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis, planning for health and welfare, retirement, and work life benefits. Being a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor coordinates with outsourced providers. May provide customer support to managers and staff with compensation or benefits questions. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the organization in the areas of salary and benefits administration with additional responsibility for producing HRIS analytics and optimizing system and procedural capabilities. As a member of the Talent Management team, this position will also partner with leaders and employees on performance and development needs and employee relations issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferred; Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HR work experience is required; intermediate experience in benefits administration, and human resource software and reporting functions (HRIS) is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general office clerical procedures; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing using proper grammar and spelling; strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy; excellent organizational and administrative skills; ability to regularly exercise sound judgment; ability to maintain professional working relationships with staff, community, and regulatory officials; ability to maintain high performance and composure under pressure, opposition, or criticism
