Compensation and Benefits Supervisor leads a team in developing, implementing, communicating, and administering compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Supervises daily compensation and benefit operations including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis, planning for health and welfare, retirement, and work life benefits. Being a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor coordinates with outsourced providers. May provide customer support to managers and staff with compensation or benefits questions. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. About the Program and Position:
Cayuga Center’s Human Resources Department has multiple staff, including Recruiters, Benefits Administrators, Specialists, Generalists, and Assistants based in New York City or Auburn, NY.
Cayuga Centers seeks a dedicated individual for the Assistant Director of Compensation and Benefits role. The Assistant Director, in partnership with the Deputy for Human Resources, leads the implementation of benefits and compensation structure for Cayuga Centers and its staff, ensuring it is competitive and equitable to attract top talent. The Assistant Director will supervise the Benefits and Compensations Specialist to research and identify appropriate salaries, health, dental, vision, staff recognition/rewards, retirement benefits, and more for the employees of Cayuga Centers. This position will work directly with the Deputy for Human Resources and the HR team to incorporate these updates for all current and new staff throughout the agency.

In collaboration with the Deputy for Human Resources, manage the participation in salary surveys and monitor salary survey data to ensure employee pay and benefits are within program budgets and that they are equitable and align with the mission of Cayuga Centers.
Manage and conduct annual job evaluations, benchmark analysis, and provide compensation recommendations that are internally equitable, externally competitive, and fiscally responsible.
Review job description templates and ensure they accurately reflect the requirements of exempt and nonexempt classifications, aligning with salary banding and program needs
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
Working with the Deputy for Human Resources, manages the development, implementation, and administration of the compensation philosophy, ensuring compensation aligns with job descriptions in each job category throughout the agency attracting talented employees to the organization.
Mentor and supervise compensation and Benefits Specialists to ensure the team meets HR objectives and initiatives aligned with the organizational mission.
In collaboration with the Deputy of Human Resources design creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive benefit plans including bonus pay and annual cost of living increases.
Monitor industry trends and legislative changes to ensure compliance and maintain a competitive benefit package.
Recommend ongoing enhancements to the benefits offered to meet the evolving needs of our workforce.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.

Establish a regular and significant presence across Cayuga Centers’ offices, in-person and/or via electronic communications. Hybrid work schedules will be limited. Travel regularly to assigned programs.
