Compensation and Benefits Supervisor leads a team in developing, implementing, communicating, and administering compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Supervises daily compensation and benefit operations including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis, planning for health and welfare, retirement, and work life benefits. Being a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor coordinates with outsourced providers. May provide customer support to managers and staff with compensation or benefits questions. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compensation & Benefits Administrator to join our team at DQS. As a vital member of our Human Resources department, the Compensation & Benefits Administrator will be responsible for managing payroll processes, administering employee benefits programs, handling unemployment insurance matters, overseeing the affirmative action plan, and performing ad hoc payroll duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll and benefits administration, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Manage payroll processes accurately and efficiently, including but not limited to processing payroll data, calculating wages, reviewing timesheets, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits, ensuring timely enrollment, eligibility verification, and coordination with third-party providers.
    • Oversee unemployment insurance matters, including responding to claims, conducting investigations, and representing the company in hearings as necessary.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor the affirmative action plan to ensure compliance with federal regulations and promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and other compensation matters, providing timely and accurate information, and resolving issues effectively.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR team members, finance, and department managers, to address payroll and benefits-related concerns and implement process improvements.
    • Stay informed about changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to payroll, benefits, and affirmative action, ensuring compliance, and recommending adjustments to policies and procedures as needed.
    • Perform ad hoc payroll duties and special projects as assigned by management.

      

    Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, benefits administration, or a related HR role.
    • Knowledge of payroll processing software and HRIS systems; experience with ADP or similar platforms preferred.
    • Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing payroll, benefits, unemployment insurance, and affirmative action.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process and analyze complex data.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Certified Benefits Professional) a plus.
