Compensation and Benefits Manager manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Manager develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Manager manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary

    Partners and advises management and employees as a skilled expert and point of contact in compensation and benefits. Analyzes, designs, budgets and administers compensation and benefits programs. 

    Responsibilities 
    Compensation
     
    • Develop and maintains job descriptions and job architecture
    • Conduct job analysis, evaluation and salary administration to determine appropriate salary
    • Participates in compensation surveys, conducts research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends
    • Generate, review, and audit various job and pay-related reports
    • Coordinate, track, and administer, annual merit increase, bonus, and commission programs
    • Crafting, applying, and maintaining salary structures and hiring ranges
    • Administers and manages the compensation reporting and compliance
    Benefits
    • Investigates, analyzes, provides guidance, and resolves a wide range of routine benefits issues
    • Responsible for all benefit related communications including open enrollment planning, materials, etc.
    • Coordinates daily benefit processing, ensuring all enrollment discrepancies are resolved
    • Audit employer contributions and payroll deductions to ensure accuracy and timeliness
    • Work with brokers and carriers to supply needed information
    • Conduct benefit premium, employee status and enrollment audits
    • Audit monthly billing reconciliation and work with third party vendor to correct discrepancies
    • Administers leaves of absences for occupational and non-occupational injuries
    • Responsible for compliance related processes (QMSCOs, 5500s, Non-Discrimination testing, ACA, etc.)
    • Manage 401K enrollment, elections, and funding
    • Partner with Finance on all Benefit Analysis requests
    • Troubleshoot feed files and coordinate a solution with vendors ensuring data integrity
    • Manages health benefits vendors, enrollment, plans, and administration to include 401k
    • Create and facilitate benefits and compensation related training
    • Maintains an effective and current working knowledge of compensation and benefits regulations
    • Other duties assigned as required*

    • Strong analysis ability to report and explain processes
    • Strong organizational skills in tracking, scheduling, and coordinating data collection and analysis
    • Ability to organize due diligence and decision-making processes
    • Establish effective internal working relationships
    • Advanced working knowledge of reporting systems to extract data driving strategies and tactics
    • Advanced proficiencies in analytics software, apps and tools to facilitate analysis and tasks
    • Advanced math, computer literacy, data analysis and critical thinking skills
    Education / Experience / Certifications
    • BA or equivalent degree from an accredited institution, in Human Resources or related field or equivalent years of experience (required)
    • 4 years of experience working as a salaried (exempt) compensation and benefits professional
    • Working experience in Human Resources Management Systems and Benefits Administration Systems

    Travel
    • Ability to travel locally and overnight as required to other facilities and office locations
    Physical Requirements and Working Environment
    • Work in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, speaking on the phone, and working on a computer
