Compensation Supervisor supervises a team working on compensation plans and programs and related analysis. Oversees common compensation projects, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Supervisor ensures that compensation plans and programs are consistent with organizational policies and all applicable federal and state laws. Maintains salary structures and company compensation policies. Additionally, Compensation Supervisor is responsible for survey participation and compensation analysis. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Compensation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. PATIENT FINANCIAL ADVOCATE - SUPERVISOR ($10,000 Recruitment Compensation Available with $2,500 upon first pay check)

  • General Description:

    Provide leadership for our financial advocacy team and empathy, support, education and guidance for our most vulnerable patient population. Engage, assist, educate and counsel patients regarding their financial liability for healthcare services. Screen, refer and assist patients in applying to the appropriate agency for Medicaid and/or other state health insurance as well as GRMC’s internal Financial Assistance Program. This role will coordinate and support multiple activities across various groups in the hospital including (but not limited to) working with the GRMC administration, revenue cycle team, schedulers, registration, clinical staff and patient outreach.

    Essential Functions:

     

    • Assist and support financial advocacy team in determining patient financial responsibility for services. Ensure patients understand their estimated financial obligation and provide wide ranging support in determining how they will meet that obligation.
    • Assist and support financial advocacy team in collecting payments and establishing payment plans tied to patient copayments, deductibles and other residual financial obligations.
    • Implement and monitor comprehensive, efficient & effective screening process for patient eligibility for Medicaid (PE/MOSSA), other state insurance programs and GRMC’s Financial Assistance Program.
    • Support financial advocacy team in assisting patients with making alternative financing arrangements for large financial obligations.
    • Work closely with other members of the Revenue Cycle team with follow-up phones calls to patients/guarantors. Act as the primary point of contact for patients to ensure they understand their insurance coverage, financial responsibility, and available assistance options.

    Education & Training Requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years of patient financial advocacy experience in hospital or healthcare office setting is required. Leadership in registration, insurance verification, scheduling, health education, patient navigation, and/or health clinic patient assistance field preferred.
    • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
    • Spanish speaking is desirable
    • Intermediate experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
    • Strong understanding of benefits investigating; deductibles, co-insurance, out of pocket expense & benefit exclusions.
    • Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility requirements, billing and charity care policies is required.
    • Leads with empathy and care while playing a key role in ensuring the financial stability of GRMC for our community.
    • Requires ability to work cooperatively with other employees, other departments and the public. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines is required.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and concentrate in a busy environment is required.
    • Ability to use common computer system and business software is necessary.
