Compensation Supervisor jobs in Florida

Compensation Supervisor supervises a team working on compensation plans and programs and related analysis. Oversees common compensation projects, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Supervisor ensures that compensation plans and programs are consistent with organizational policies and all applicable federal and state laws. Maintains salary structures and company compensation policies. Additionally, Compensation Supervisor is responsible for survey participation and compensation analysis. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Compensation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Responsibilities

    The Workers' Compensation Claim Supervisor is responsible for:

    • Investigating, adjusting, and supervising assigned claims.
    • Overseeing a team of 5 on a dedicated client account.
    • Reviewing, assigning, and supervising all claim activity for designated claims.
    • Reserving and/or overseeing reserves for designated claims.
    • Providing oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates, and miscellaneous invoices.
    • Negotiating settlements in accordance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions, and state laws.
    • Assisting in the selection, referral, and supervision of designated claim files sent to outside vendors.
    • Directly handling designated litigated and complex claims.
    • Providing education, training, and assisting in the development of claim staff.
    • Reviewing and maintaining a personal diary on the claim system.
    • Ensuring compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Initiative to set and achieve performance goals.
    • Good analytic and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to cope with job pressures in a constantly changing environment.
    • Knowledge of all lower-level claim position responsibilities.
    • Must be detail-oriented and a self-starter with strong organizational abilities.
    • Ability to coordinate and prioritize effectively.
    • Flexibility, accuracy, initiative, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Discretion and confidentiality are required.
    • Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours.
    • Responsive to internal and external client needs.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • 10 years of claim experience is required.
    • Three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Experience with presumptive claims, municipality claims and FL heart and lung claims is preferred.

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    • FL Adjusters License is preferred.
    • AIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred.
