Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • SUMMARY
    Responsible for management of the CHSGa Compensation Program in compliance with internal policies and procedures and government regulations. This position also monitors and analyzes market conditions, government regulations to ensure that the CHSGa Compensation Program remains current and equitable.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Manages the development, implementation and administration of new and revised compensation practices.
    • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
    • Provides advice on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
    • Assists with the recommendation of new wage scales based on market data.
    • Reviews and/or assists with development of job descriptions to ensure accuracy.
    • Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
    • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
    • Oversees CHSGa’s participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
    • Updates wages scales, at least annually, based on appropriate salary survey and Department of Labor data.
    • Collaborates with the CHSGa BIS team to ensure wage scales are updated and tested in Workday to ensure accuracy
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.
    • Complies with all Corporate Compliance, HIPAA, Privacy and Security Programs.
    • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
    • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
    • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field
    • 5 to 7 years of direct compensation experience with at least 3 years in compensation management
    • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
    • Experience with Human Capital Management Systems, preferably Workday
    • Preferred certifications:
                        o Certified Compensation Professional (CCP),
                        o Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS),
                        o Professional in Human Resources (PHR),
                        o Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP),
                        o Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
                        o Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
    • Human Resource Management experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
    • Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel as needed throughout the state.
