Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Description


    As the Director of Compensation, you’ll impact the lives of everyday people and help them go from surviving to thriving with innovative digital personal finance solutions. The Director is responsible for delivering world class compensation programs which ensure Achieve can attract and retain the talent needed to deliver on our company objectives today and tomorrow. Leveraging your deep understanding of compensation programs, leadership skills, operational rigor, and change management, you will lead your team through the successful design, implementation, and launch of critical compensation programs.


    With strategic long term vision, your role will effectively partner with leadership to ensure the alignment of design initiatives with business goals and objectives across base compensation, variable pay, equity and related analytics. This position is responsible for leading the development and delivery of progressive and strategic compensation solutions and the administration of all compensation plans, policies and programs targeted at retaining the company's competitive position and maximizing associates' productivity, associates' engagement and retention. This role is the ongoing owner of job architecture including job levels, titling, infrastructure, grades, and segmentation framework.

    What you’ll do:

    • Lead a cohesive team of professionals, dedicated to providing a best-in-class experience for Achieve employees.
    • Design, execute and measure Company compensation strategy including the long term road map for the enterprise compensation strategy.
    • Gather, analyze and leverage internal data and external/competitive insights to identify opportunities for competitive differentiation. Establish mechanisms to measure, track, and report on compensation.
    • Promote proactive compensation strategies and drive understanding of practices across the executive/manager and employee base, establish key initiatives, and communicate insights & recommendations to Executive Leadership that enhance current offerings and/or best manage cost.
    • Own productive relationships with our HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Legal team, Finance team, and senior leadership.
    • Drive leadership awareness, commitment and accountability for the incoming candidate and existing employee experience across the business to drive attraction and retention.
    • Plan, develop and implement new and revised compensation programs.
    • Provide expert counsel in the development of annual variable incentive compensation and other applicable incentive plans including sales incentive compensation, and effective salary management, aligned to our total rewards philosophy.
    • Drive the annual compensation review process, maintain oversight, compliance, and financial governance.
    • Ensure change management, resource, training, and support programs are in place to scale for a growing population.
    • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and company objectives.
    • Perform research on emerging trends, issues, and best practices in compensation, using analytics to help enhance programs, process, or incumbent-level concerns.


    What you’ll bring:

    • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration or other related field with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience in compensation including equity and variable pay programs.
    • At least 5 years leadership experience forming, engaging and growing teams.
    • Successful track record of mentorship, leadership and building a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Strong learning agility. Enjoys and excels in environments where you must tackle and solve new and increasingly complex strategic business challenges and issues—incorporating the newest ideas, technologies, and approaches to business.
    • Comfortable with all systems and tools necessary to illustrate and convey complex information in clear and simple formats (e.g. Google Drive, docs, sheets, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
    • In depth knowledge of HR programs and systems.
    • Strong collaboration, engagement, influencing and project management skills.
    • Thinks strategically and makes informed decisions through the use of data and analytics.
    • Exceptional organizational skill to work comfortably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $200,000.00 annually bonus benefits. This information represents the expected salary range for this role. Should we decide to make an offer for employment, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
