Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • Job Description: The Role As a Director of Compensation, you will be a member of the Enterprise Compensation Strategy team. In this role you will lead the strategy, development, and implementation of compensation programs across the enterprise. Responsibilities include analyzing compensation data, identifying trends, packaging findings and solutions to support the enhancement of our compensation structures and programs. In addition, you will participate in cross company projects. The Compensation function works in a cross-functional way with enterprise and BU aligned team members all working toward supporting Fidelity’s compensation philosophy. Compensation team members are part of the broader Human Resources organization, consisting of associates who work in Line HR, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, HR Operations, Communications, Finance and Workforce Analytics. We are key business partners to these colleagues and work with them to develop and implement those teams to deploy and support BU specific and central compensation programs and initiatives. The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelors or equivalent 8 years of experience in compensation/sales compensation and/or finance/business preferred Strong executive presence Ability to work across a large organization and implement quickly against multiple priorities Ability to build relationships and consult with all levels of the organization Strong program/project management skills You have designed, developed and led a variety of compensation programs and processes including base salary, variable pay programs, sales compensation, compensation strategy and competitive pay analysis You are an expert with the full spectrum of approaches and tools used for compensation-related market research, modeling and analysis You have deep analytical skills with an ability to break down complex questions / data into well-structured analyses, and synthesize key points Fidelity Internal Information You effectively manage concurrent programs, processes and initiatives collaborating with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders and have a proven ability to think end-to-end about the work to be implemented. Program Design: Conducts compensation data trend analytics, assessment of pay programs, competitive/market analytics, internal equity analyses, etc. Develops impactful data visualizations to enable better insights and decisions. Supports broad pay program initiatives and data reviews as needed. Pay Cycle Support: Partners across compensation function for pay cycle execution. Assists in analyzing and measures operational cycle components and supports reporting. Projects/Initiatives: With limited oversight leads multiple, complex, projects. Attends and/or delivers internal presentations to update partners on projects/programs. Participates in cross-functional committees and builds consensus.
