Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Director, Compensation oversees broad-based global compensation strategy and administration. Reporting to the VP, Total Rewards, this role collaborates with colleagues across the organization to align compensation programs with organizational strategy and goals, values, and culture. Ensures effective and efficient operations of global compensation offerings while mentoring, coaching, and developing direct and indirect reports. The Director, Compensation has direct management responsibility for the Americas compensation team and will partner closely with the Total Rewards leader for EMEA & APAC to implement these programs and standards.

    What you'll be doing

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy post-spinoff, including building out a compensation function.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and other stakeholders to ensure the compensation philosophy is aligned with the company's overall strategy and goals.
    • Create a job leveling framework that aligns with the company's business objectives and culture, including job families, job levels, and associated salary ranges.
    • In partnership with Executive Compensation leader, develop incentive targets that are aligned with business objectives and individual performance, including short-term and long-term incentives, bonuses, and equity-based plans.
    • Partner with Finance colleagues to ensure compensation plans are aligned with financial objectives and budgets.
    • Lead the annual compensation review process including calendar development, process guidelines, market range updates, coordination of global merit budgets, manager and employee communications, and systems configuration testing.
    • Partner with HR technology colleagues during HCM implementation and on an ongoing basis to ensure compensation planning module is configured to meet the needs of the organization’s compensation planning process.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with HR business partners, hiring managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Monitor and analyze compensation trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to ensure the company's compensation strategy remains competitive and effective.

    • Proven history of developing and implementing successful compensation strategies that drive business growth and manage risk.
    • Strong experience in partnering with Finance colleagues to ensure compensation plans are aligned with financial objectives and budgets.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and actionable recommendations.
    • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate compensation data and metrics.
    • Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams, with a focus on collaboration, empowerment, and accountability.
    • Strong understanding of compensation regulations and trends, including equity and diversity considerations.
    • Requires an undergraduate degree.
    • 10 years related compensation program design.

    • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.

The estimated base salary for this position is $160,000 - $240,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
