We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Downsizer/Organizer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with clients to assess their needs, develop customized downsizing and organizing plans, and execute strategies to declutter and optimize their living spaces. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for helping others create harmonious living environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct consultations with clients to understand their goals, preferences, and challenges related to downsizing and organizing.
Develop personalized downsizing and organizing plans based on clients' needs, timelines, and budgets.
Assist clients in sorting through belongings, making decisions about what to keep, donate, sell, or discard, and packing/unpacking items as needed.
Coordinate logistics for moving and/or disposing of items, including arranging for donation pick-ups, coordinating with movers, and managing storage solutions.
Implement organizing systems and solutions to maximize space, optimize functionality, and enhance aesthetics within clients' homes.
Provide hands-on support and guidance to clients throughout the downsizing and organizing process, offering encouragement, empathy, and practical solutions.
Educate clients on effective decluttering and organizing techniques and provide resources for maintaining organized spaces.
Maintain confidentiality and respect clients' privacy and possessions at all times.
Keep accurate records of client interactions, project details, and expenses for billing and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in downsizing, organizing, or related fields (e.g., professional organizing, senior move management, estate management) is a plus.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with clients.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Knowledge of decluttering and organizing principles, techniques, and resources.
Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying objects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or project management software is a plus.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to client locations.
