  • SUMMARY: This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and strengthening community engagement with Goodwill.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    : Include, but are not limited to the following as other duties may be assigned:


    • Promotes the general goals and objectives of the Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries (HOTGW) to all community stakeholders.
    • Provide an active community presence across Goodwill’s territory.
    • Represent the organization in community forums, events, and meetings.
    • Identifies stakeholder groups and audiences and determines the best way to communicate information to them.
    • Build and promote community awareness and support to future Goodwill’s mission, operations, and service to the community.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to further public relations objectives and educate stakeholders about Goodwill’s operations, service programs, events, and partnership opportunities.
    • Respond and engage with community members and groups by providing in-person meetings, e-email communication, presentations, and other forms of connection.
    • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of the community, customers, employees, and public interest groups.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to properly refer community partners to the appropriate team or company division.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A driver’s license check is required. Must show proof of current driver’s license and minimum auto liability insurance coverage.

    • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
    • Ability to coordinate and manage events with internal and external partners.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends when necessary.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with diverse populations.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in fast-paced, consistently changing environment.
    • Proficiency in completing assignments independently, on time, and within budget.


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    High school diploma or equivalent required and a minimum of three years experience in the practice of communications and public relations.Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) or G-Suite expertise strongly preferred.


    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee may be required to lift up to 20 pounds. The job requires regular sitting and using a computer.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles (dust and lint). The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to very noisy.
