Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Community Development Representative occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Community Development Coach

  • Required Times: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday

    Jewish Community Services is seeking staff for (15.00-18.00 hrs./ per week.) to serve as a Community Development Coach to meet clients with varying abilities and assist them with engaging within their community, learning social skills to assist them in building and maintaining, meaningful relationships and engage in social activities. Coaches will provide hands-on assistance with various activities that may consist of, arts and crafts, cooking, games, fitness classes, mo vies, group discussions and more. In addition, Coaches are expected to document progress notes and attendance on each client by utilizing in house software or email. Training is available.

    Coach Responsibilities May Include:

    • Through client observation determine necessary support and/or accommodations to assist them with being successful in their role.
    • Engaging clients within the community to assist them with learning social and communication skills become self-sufficient.
    • Advocating and negotiating reasonable accommodations and alternative methods of client accomplishing assigned tasks and duties
    • Mediating and resolving conflicts or issues between clients in a group setting
    • Modeling tasks to demonstrate effective task performance.
    • Maintaining accurate progress notes
    • Following a schedule and implementing lesson plans.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficiency with computers, the Internet, Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, and Time Keeping Systems, etc.
    • Familiarity, sensitivity, and the ability relate to individuals with varying abilities
    • Familiarity with and/or sensitivity to religious and cultural identities (including ethical and social values)

    Requirements for Coach:

    • Maintain all State required training (CPR, First Aid, OSHA, etc.)
    • Capacity to work in- person with clients of varying abilities.
    • Must have reliable transportation to maintain punctuality.
    • Must pass a criminal background check
    • Must pass a five-panel drug test
    • COVID Vaccination and Proof of Vaccination Required

    Education & Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

    • Experience with individuals with disabilities is required.
    • Prior DDA training preferred.
