Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Community Development Representative occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Under the direct supervision of the departmental supervisor, the purpose of the position is to perform responsible customer service work in assisting the general public with basic application and processing functions of residential and commercial permitting. Employees in this classification function at entry level. Objective is to provide accurate and efficient assistance to the general public and business community. Work policies and procedures are specific and well-established; however, routine work is performed with some independence once experience is gained. Performs related work as directed.Because it is difficult if not impossible to present a finite list of every possible function to be performed by employee, the City of Wilton Manors reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to modify and update this job description and to ask employee to perform tasks beyond the duties presented herein. In the event a change is necessary to update the essential functions of the job, the City will provide as much notice as practicable to the employee.

    • Answers inquiries and requests from the general public and business community, ascertaining the needs of the customer and providing appropriate assistance and information through friendly, professional customer service skills.
    • Assists customers with various processes; e.g., permit applications and business licensing.
    • Performs various essential record-keeping duties to organize and maintain departmental information and records.
    • Assists residents with general questions about departmental processes.
    • Operates various office equipment; e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, facsimile machines, calculators.
    • Greets visitors and provides general assistance and information to the public.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Any combination of training and experience which would provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
